Police assures a hit free inauguration in Abia tomorrow

The Commissioner of Police in Abia State Command, Mustapha Mohammed Bala, has assured residents of the state of a hitch free inauguration ceremony slated for 29th May 2023.

In statement by the Police Pubic Relationship Officer in the State Me Geoffrey Ogbonna, Bala stated that the Police and other Security agencies have been massively deployed to fortify venues of the Inauguration ceremony in the State before, during and after.

He urged all Abia residents and visitors to adhere to all rules and regulations as regards the Inauguration.

He also requested that residents should report any suspicious activity or persons to the Police or other relevant Security agencies.

The CP warned all non state actors, groups or individuals with the intention of causing or creating any form of chaos before, during, and after the celebration to steer clear off the venues as the law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to subdue any confrontational or act of insecurity.

Furthermore, the CP has ordered constant ‘CONVOY PATROL/ SHOW OF FORCE’ across the metros and enjoin all residents not to panic with increased presence of security operatives patrol within their areas as the Command is committed to ensuring a safe and secure Abia before, during and after the period.

Bala urged members of the public to support the Police and be law abiding saying that “Security is a collective responsibility”.
