The Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu has appreciated the Youth Wing of Catholic Secretariat Of Nigeria, Umuahia Diocese for their show of love and support that led to the overwhelming victory of the Labour Party in the just concluded 2023 general election.
Engr. Emetu who made the appreciation when members of the Youth Wing of Catholic Secretariat Of Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Umuahia, also lauded the crucial roles they have been playing in instilling good morals and virtues into youths in the State which have reduced criminality and other social vices.
He said that Dr. Alex Otti’s led administration is determined in it’s resolve to ensure that a greater number of Abia youths are gainfully employed to boost their capacity and harness their potentials.
Engr. Emetu also reiterated that no serious minded Government neglects the over 60% youths of the State who forms the bedrock of Govt and acts as catalysts of development in the State.
He reassured the delegation of his support to enable them achieve their lofty goals, while imploring them to continue to pray and give the present administration the much needed support to enable them excel in making life more meaningful for Abians through the provision of basic infrastructure and amenities.
In his address, the President of the Youth Wing of the CSN, Comrade Eugene Okonta said the Youth Wing of CSN is a significant group within the Christian Association of Nigeria that have over the years played crucial roles in instilling good morals in the lives of Catholic youths and promoting ecumenism.
Comrade Okonta whose address was presented by the Secretary, Brother Vincent Ibekwe further disclosed that they came to show their support for him and commend the present Government’s laudable efforts in implementing programs aimed at transforming and building the capacity of Abia youths and solicits his assistance in sponsoring their participation in their upcoming National Conference in Enugu.
The visit which featured the presentation of a Holy Bible and Sacramentals to the Deputy Governor.
