Better plans ahead for persons of disabilities in Abia says Mrs. Otti

Abia state government has started the capturing of the physically challenged and persons of disabilities in the state.

This is to have an accurate data and a better plan for them in the state.

Mrs. Priscilla Otti, the wife of Abia state governor who witnessed the capturing today at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia also distributed bags of rice, groundnut oil and other food items to over 2000 persons of disabilities in the state.

She said that the aim is to have accurate data of people with disabilities in the state and at the same time have a better plan for them so that nobody in the state is left behind.

The capturing is also a way to interact with persons of disabilities in other to know their plight and how the government can solve their problems.

“This is the beginning of good things to come with persons of disabilities in the state because we will use the data capturing to include them in the scheme of things at the federal level.

Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on persons with disabilities, Mr. David Anyaele said that today the plight of persons with disabilities in Abia has received the support of the wife of the Governor.

According to him, “she has shown her resolve to include persons of disabilities in the governance of the state so that they can contributes their quota because there is ability in disability”.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for youths and sports development, Mr. Nwaobilo Ananaba states that the administration of Governor Otti is an inclusive one that is poised to carry every Abian along.
Nwaobilo represented by Mr. James Ajom, said that the data capturing has the backing of Governor Otti, so as to have a better plan for the disabled.
