Create time to interface with opposition political parties: APM chairman urges Otti
The Abia State chairman of the Allied Peoples’ Movement Deacon Victor Umunna, has called on Governor Alex Otti, to create time and interface with opposition political parties in the state in order forster a peaceful political environment in the state.
Umunna who is also the state Organizing Secretary of the inter-party advisory council Abia state said the call was made during the State Working Committee meeting of his party held recently.
He urged Gov Otti to be magnanimous in reciprocating the kind gestures other political parties expressed towards his emergence in 2023 general election and the just concluded Local Government election.
He said, “We jettison all forms of litigations in spite of some levels of irregularities in the election process, but choose to align with the present administration with hope that it won’t be winner takes it all.
“Leveraging on what happening in other states of the federation where the government in power always have periodic round table tete’a’tete with opposition political parties for conviviality and smooth administration devoid of rancor and crisis.
“The government in power should note that all political parties matter and have the potency to drive the political processes across board.
“I also wish to congratulate my Distinguished colleague,Hon. Prince Onukwue of the Zenith Labour party on the feat his party recorded in the last LGA election,this is only the act of God”.
