Gov. Otti Set to Inaugurate Retrofitted Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in Ngwu Uzuakoli

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, in line with his administration’s agenda to deliver quality healthcare to residents of Abia, will visit Ngwu Uzuakoli in Bende Local Government Area on Friday, June 20, 2025, to inaugurate a retrofitted Primary Healthcare Centre (PHC) in the community.

This landmark engagement underscores Governor Otti’s unwavering commitment to grassroots development, quality healthcare, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.

The Commissioner for Information in the state, Prince Okey Kanu, in a statement issued in Umuahia, revealed that the fully operational PHC in Ngwu Uzuakoli is one of the flagship facilities under “Project Ekwueme”—an ambitious health intervention programme aimed at delivering 200 modern, functional PHCs across Abia State.

The upgraded healthcare facility is strategically located and is already delivering essential medical services to residents of the community and its environs.

Equipped with state-of-the-art medical technology and staffed by a team of qualified healthcare professionals, the centre provides accessible, efficient, and life-saving healthcare services on a daily basis.

The official commissioning forms part of Governor Otti’s broader initiative to overhaul and strengthen primary healthcare delivery across all parts of Abia State.

Shortly after the commissioning, Governor Otti will proceed to the Practising School, Uzuakoli, where he will attend a grand civic reception in honour of the Honourable Member representing Bende North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly.

The Governors decision to attend the event serves as a powerful symbol of bipartisan collaboration and political maturity, reflecting his inclusive leadership style and commitment to working with all stakeholders—regardless of political affiliation—for the collective advancement of Abia State.
