Abia celebrate Otti for successful delivery of signature projects; shuns the oppositions

By Njoku SaintJerry A.

The week rounded off in Abia State with the commissioning of eight infrastructure projects of reckon by the Otti’s led Labour party government. Nigeria’s number one citizen, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria H.E, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu was ably represented by the Honorable Minister of Transport Engr. Dave Umahi who left no stone unturned making sure he touched base at the site of every projects that has been earmarked for commissioning.

Residents in Aba and Umuahia, located around and within the project areas were ecstatic and exhibited every signs of gratefulness for a dream fulfilled and the return of social and economic lifeline of the areas. Most importantly was the overwhelming support enjoyed by Otti’s government from the Presidency including leaders of the ruling party at the center whom has find the need to connect with every occasion that calls for a synergy between Abia and Abuja.

No doubt Abians shall remain grateful for the overwhelming support from the Presidency, the Deputy Speaker Rt. Hon Benjamin Kalu and other Political leaders from different Political parties whom have continued to shun partisan politics whenever the need for a development cause arises in Abia State.

This is the heartbeat of commerce and industry in the South East, Nigeria and it is automatically the responsibility of every person of authority and citizens genuinely committed to a Nigeria of Hope and prosperity to join hands and support every right move of the government to establish a harmonious working environment suitable for productivity and economic sustenance.

Like the Igbo adage that says; “Ahia oma na ere onwe ya” (A good product in the market, sells itself). Gov Alex Otti’s product in the state continue to attract patronage and support from all walks and crannies including individuals who has build faith in a working democracy that is genuinely people oriented.

This is the driving force of the Labour party government and in agreement, the residents of Aba and Umuahia and nearby LGA’s did not hesitate to show solidarity and their endorsement of a governor that has exhibited sincerity to one of the foremost desires of every citizen, a working environment equipped with the basic infrastructures of roads and electricity.

Despite the Opposition’s attempt to divert the attention of the citizens and disrupt the joy of residents that has for decades looked forward to a day as this, one thing remains very clear; the once stench from a mountain of garbage that constituted a health hazards, driven residents away and destroyed businesses at Aba-Port Harcourt road is gone forever!, business is back to Aba-Port Harcourt road and ‘transportation made easy’ between Enyimba city and Garden City is back.

This excitement and gratefulness from the people of Aba and visitors to Aba and Port Harcourt city shall outlive any distraction including every other roads that were commissioned within the week by the Presidency, whether it is 500 meters or 0.1 Kilometer, as long as it solved an infrastructure deficit that previous administrations whom have now constituted into an opposition elements found it herculean to execute, the people cared less at the growing criticism of who was present or absent at the commissioning process.

More so, Abians has never at anytime asked for too much other than let those elected or appointed into public offices take responsibility in fixing necessary basic infrastructure that will make life worth living and keep the economic cycle of the region active, if previous administration has had any respect or genuine interest for the people they governed for decades, these problems would not have existed into such a behemoth of responsibilities that it took a conscientious government like the Gov Alex Otti’s led labour party government to fix them once and for all.

“To whom much is given, much is expected” Abians are happy and did not fail to show their excitement and gratefulness at the support from men and women of goodwill especially from the Presidency whom have promised to do more by releasing about 35 kilometers of the Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene federal road to the Otti’s government to complete in due course.
