Abia Lawmaker Appreciates Otti, Others For Attending His Mother’s Burial

The member representing Ohafia South constituency in Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Kalu Mba Nwoke has appreciated the governor, Dr Alex Otti and others for attending the burial of his (Nwoke) mother.
Nwoke’s mother, Deaconess Ezi-Uma Mba Nwoke Anyaorie (A.k.a Nma Olumba), who died at the ripe age of 102 was burried in his hometown, Asaga Ohafia in Ohafia local government last Saturday.
The House Committee Chairman on Sanitation and Urban Renewal expressed the appreciation while speaking to newsmen in Umuahia, the state capital, praying God to bless all who contributed to make the ocassion a success.
“With a heart full of appreciation, I humbly wish to salute all who despite their tight schedules found time to stand by my family, before, during and after the most gruelling and trying time of my life,” he said.
“Most profoundly, I wish to thank His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, the executive governor of Abia State, who from day one kept in touch with me with humongous encouragements, despite demanding state activities.”
Nwoke noted that their show of love for him during the ocassion was enormously overwhelming, adding that “it was practically impossible for me to personally interface with the mammoth crowd that trooped out in support of my family.”
He explained that the list includes the “Deputy Governor of the state and my dear brother, His Excellency, Engr Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu FNSE, who was part of the planing from the begining till the end”.
Others were the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa, Garrison Commander, 14 Brigade, Nigeria Army, Ohafia, Lt Col I.O Kolawole, and the Clerk/Head of Legislative Service of the House, Sir Johnpedro Irokansi PhD.
His colleagues, the speaker, Rt Hon Emmanuel Emeruwa; deputy speaker, Rt Hon Austine Okezie; Leader, Hon Uchenna Okoro; Whip, Hon Emeka Obioma; Hon Anthony Chinasa, Hon Iheanacho Nwaogu, Hon Fyne Ahuama, Hon Anderson Akaliro, Hon Boniface Isienyi, Hon Lucky Johnson, Hon Emmanuel Ndubuisi and Hon Chijioke Uruakpa.
The rest were traditional rulers, Ndi Ezie Ogo Ohafia, captains of industries, Etiokwe Grassroot Initiative, the state chapter of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, and the Protocol Department of the House, the media, and his political associates among others.
“I thank the entire Asaga Ohafia community, I have my roots in you. Unu kaa. The Brotherhood of the Cross and Star, who conducted the burial programme and showed why love leads. Peace of the Father!’
“The list is endless, and the appreciation is not enough. I am indeed very grateful to you all. As you stood by me, the Lord and Master of the Universe shall also stand by you at all times.”
