The National Executive Committee of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared the purported suspension of the party chairman in Abia and seven other States as null and void, and no effect.

Recall that a former national chairman of ADC Mr Ralphs
Nwosu, had dissolved the Abia State Executive Committee on August 2, 2022.

He also suspend and expelled chairmen of the party in Kogi, Edo, Niger, Rivers Sokoto, Kebbi,
and Gombe States.

But a resolution by the party’s NEC  on January 10, 2023, signed by the National chairman Kingsley Temitope Ogga and Secretary
Mr Kennedy Odion, quashed the purported sack of the states chairmen involved.

The resolution was sequel to
a judgment of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, presided over by Hon. Justice B.F.M Nyako in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1541/2022 between Kingsley Temitope Ogga
& 9 Ors V. African Democratic Congress & 2 Ors.

The resolution read in part,”The purported dissolution of the Abia State Executive Committee by Ralphs Nwosu was
illegal, null and void, and of no effect.

“The so-called suspension and expulsion of the Kogi, Edo, Niger, Rivers, Sokoto, Kebbi,
Abia and Gombe States Chairmen have been quashed by the Federal High Court judgment and, therefore, of no effect.

“The Abia State Executive Committee, headed by Obinna Don Norman, is the legally
and duly elected State Executive Committee of our party in Abia State.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), relevant authorities and security agencies should only recognise the duly elected EXCOs and the states
chairmen of Abia, Kogi, Edo, Niger, Rivers, Sokoto, Kebbi and Gombe.

“Any other persons parading themselves as the State Executive Committee or interim
committee chairmen of Abia, Kogi, Edo, Niger, Rivers, Sokoto, Kebbi and Gombe should be regarded as impersonators and dealt with according to the law”.
