Breaking: Aviation unions set to withdraw services indefinitely on August 11, ask passengers to make alternative arrangements

Four major Unions involved in Nigeria aviation industry have ordered her members to withdraw their services from August 11 2025 till further notice.

The statement dated August 07, 2025 was copied the Honorable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Mr Festus Keyamo, the Managing Director/CEO NAMA, the Managing Director/CEO FAAN, the Commissioner of Police Airport Command, the
Director of State Security All Airport
and Airlines operators of Nigeria.

The unions stated their stand in a statement made available to our correspondent on Thursday.

Below are the names of the union and those that signed the statement

1.National Union of Air Transport Employees. NUATE, Deputy General Secretary Comrade Odinaka I. Igbokwe

2. Air Transport Service Senior Staff Association. ATSSSAN Principal Deputy General Secretary Comrade Frances Akinjole

3. Association of Nigeria Aviation Professional. ANAP Comrade AbdulRasaq Saidu

4. AMALGAMATED Union of Public Corporation Civil Service Technical and Recreational Service Employees. AUCPTRE Comrade Alo Lawrence

The statement read in full

As you are aware, the notice of withdrawal of service given on 30th July 2025 expires at the end of today. Therefore all workers of NAMA are hereby direct to stop services with effect from Monday 11th August 2025 at 05hrs indefinitely.

All Airlines and allied companies as well as the flying public are hereby informed of above stated action and adviced to make alternative travel arrangements.

All staff should comply with the directive, and only joint communication from the above unions shall be heeded to with regard to further directives on this matter.
