Namibian Governor, Chima Anyasọ Explore Pan-African Trade, Clean Energy in Lagos Meeting

The Governor of Namibia’s Ohangwena Region, Hon. Kadiva Diana Hamutumwa, met with Dr. Chimaobi D. Anyaso, Chairman and CEO of CAADES GROUP, in Lagos yesterday to hold strategic conversations on fostering pan-African partnerships.

The meeting, hosted at the CAADES GROUP’s Lagos office, focused on exploring collaborative opportunities between the Nigerian business conglomerate and the Namibian region.

According to a statement from Dr. Anyaso, the discussions centered on key sectors for development, including:
* Cross-border trade and investment
* Clean mobility and transportation innovation
* Hospitality and tourism development
* Youth development and leadership exchange programs

The engagement included practical demonstrations of the group’s ventures, with Gov. Hamutumwa touring one of CAADES GROUP’s E-Drive (electric mobility) stations and visiting one of the company’s boutique hotel properties in Lekki.
Dr. Anyaso praised the governor’s “dedication to public service, youth empowerment, and continental development,” calling her a reflection of “the very best of Africa’s forward-thinking leadership.”

Hon. Hamutumwa, who was appointed Governor on July 1, 2025, serves as the political head of the Ohangwena region and a representative of the President, H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi Ndaitwah. Her professional background includes extensive experience in business strategy, corporate governance, and a long-serving executive role at the Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater).

The meeting was framed by both parties as a crucial step in strengthening ties between the two nations. Dr. Anyaso emphasized a belief that “Africa’s future will be built through partnerships, shared knowledge, and private-public sector cooperation across the continent.”

He added that the CAADES GROUP looks forward to “advancing discussions and building solutions that foster growth in both Nigeria and Namibia.”

“A more connected Africa is a more prosperous Africa,” Dr. Anyaso concluded.
