2023; Ibeku Youths drum Support for Abia speaker
The Ibeku Youth Association has declared her full support for the speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly Chief Chinedum Orji, to represent the Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
The president general of the association Mr Martins Nwosu, said the group came to the conclusion considering Orji’s developmental strides in all the clans that made up the constituency.
He spoke during the launching of one hundred million naira fund to build the association’s skills acquisition centre and Secretariat in Umuahia the Abia State capital last Saturday.
He said, “We have seen that Mr speaker has the capacity to represent us. We judge him based on what he has done so far.
“Even though he’s representing the Umuahia Central state constituency, but if you check in all the clans in Ikwuano Umuahia Federal Constituency you will see one project or the other that he has done.
“For some of our brothers contesting for House of Assembly seats, we urge them to be civil in their campaigns, election is not a war and they should not see it as fight between them”.
Nwosu who revealed that Ibeku Youth Association as a socio- cultural association is poised in discouraging crimes and other vices amongst Ibeku Youths by introducing programs and trainings that will guide the youths aright.
He pointed out that lack of tools and a permanent site to carry out such skills training had posed a huge challenge to the association in past, while soliciting for the support of the Ibeku bigwigs to actualize the skill acquisition project on record time.
He revealed that the association intends to train over one thousand youths in skills such as 3D Walls, Interior decoration, Graphics Design and CCtv installation.
