We will not relent in our efforts to secure the release of Kanu/peace in the South East- Ogah

The member representing Isuikwuato and Umunneochi Federal Constituency Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has said that all hope is not lost in the efforts of South East leaders towards the release
of the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, from detention.
He said the members of the South East caucus in the National Assembly were working assiduously to secure Kanu’s and a lasting peace in zone.
Ogah spoke in his Onuaku Uturu, country home on Sunday during an annual welfare outreach for his Constituents including widows and People Living With Disabilities.
He urged the supporters of the IPOB leaders who might have been disappointed with the outcome of supreme Court Judgement on December 15 not be deterred, adding that Kanu will soon regain his freedom.
“There are three arms of Government, the Executive, Legislature and the Judiciary and they have their functions and procedures of operation. Those of us in legislature will continue to press for the
release of Nnamdi Kanu, but we will also allow the Judiciary to conclude the process that will lead to his release”, he said.
The law maker also revealed that the welfare outreach where food items, wrappers and money was distributed to widows and others in his community has been a yearly ritual he has sustained for years.
According to him the gesture which engulfed over 20 million naira was financed from his private pocket.
“This is what we have been doing for many years. It’s my immediate family’s way of reaching out to our people especially the widows in our community.
“But this year we also expanded it to accommodate the traditional institution, church, transport unions and others because of my current status as the member representing our Constituency in Abuja.
“Our reason for doing this is to assist the widows to celebrate Christmas with their family because we under that the cost of things are high now”.
Ogah assured his constituents that he will not relent in attracting infrastructural projects that will improve their living conditions and economic wellbeing.
