The award, SWAN’s highest honor, underscores the Governor’s commitment to fostering youth empowerment and unity through sports since assuming office in 2019.

Receiving the award during the SWAN National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Lafia, Governor Sule expressed gratitude, stating, “This recognition validates our administration’s dedication to creating opportunities for our youth in sports. Sports unite us and serve as a business avenue to empower our youth, steering them away from crime and towards self-reliance.”

Governor Sule announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art stadium in Lafia and six mini stadia across Nasarawa State to boost grassroots sports. He highlighted his administration’s initiatives, including hosting the Governor’s Cup, rewarding winners, and sponsoring local teams to national events.

SWAN National President, Comrade Benjamin Kemje Isaiah, lauded Governor Sule for his unwavering support, remarking, “Your Excellency is the first Northern Governor to host our NEC meeting and receive this prestigious award.

Your transformative leadership in sports and other sectors is commendable.” He urged the Governor to assist SWAN with resources to enhance their operations.

The event, attended by top government officials and SWAN members, featured facility tours and culminated in the NEC meeting.

Governor Sule pledged continued support for SWAN’s activities, including its Diamond Jubilee Celebration in 2025, where more stakeholders will be honored.

This milestone further cements Nasarawa State as a beacon of sports excellence under Governor Sule’s visionary leadership.
