Group scores Gov. Otti high on performance, tells opposition to criticize government constructively

A non political group, the United Abia Artistes and Patriots Forum (UAAP) has passed a vote of confidence on the 14-months administration of Governor Alex Otti having made remarkable achievements in various sectors of the state’s economy.

The group made its position known during a media briefing in Umuahia through the President of the group, Ambassador Osita Offor, the Ultimate Commander.

Briefing the press, Ambassador Osita Offor said they decided to come public after reviewing the progress made by the Governor within the period under review.

” We have collectively passed a vote of confidence on His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti OFR as it is clear to everyone that now is the time to put Abia forward.”

While noting that the administration has demonstrated that leadership is not a rocket science , the group said that the administration has anchored its activities on effective visualization, planning, implementation and monitoring which are core pillars of progress.

On infrastructure, the Forum equally noted that Governor Alex Otti has turned virtually all parts of the state to a construction site as evident in the ongoing reconstruction of Port Harcourt road Aba by Julius Berger, Ngwa ,Omuma and many other roads in Aba.

The forum equally noted with delight the efforts of Governor Alex Otti to transform Umuahia the State capital into a modern city following the expansion and commissioning of the former Ossah-Abia Tower road now known as Aguiyi Ironsi Boulevard while the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Isuikwuato-Abiriba under reconstruction speaks volume of the Governor’s rebuilding agenda.

It called on the opposition in the state to contribute positively to the socio-political development of Abia by offering constructive solutions along with their criticisms of the administration, rather than resorting to destructive opposition.

The group acknowledged that the opposition is fulfilling its democratic role but criticized it for not doing it the right way, urging the opposition to back up their criticism with possible solutions.

Ambassador Offor while also urging the opposition in the state to refrain from “Destructive Opposition”, as it “is no longer in vogue”, urged them to adopt constructive opposition as the way forward.

“We have nothing against opposition, we have nothing against people speaking their mind but we have everything against those who are meant to destroy or distract the Governor of Abia State and his administration.” Offor stressed.

“It is vital for them to recognize that Abia State belongs to all of us, and the state’s progress or failure doesn’t rest solely with the current administration. It is a collective responsibility. We must all contribute positively to ensure the State’s advancement”

“So we call on every well meaning Abian ,Nigerians to support Dr. Alex Otti to achieve greater things for the people of Abia. Abia State has suffered so much for the past 24 years.

“This is the time the Lord has remembered Abia State and we should not allow ourselves to be an instrument of destruction.” Ambassador Offor stated.
