The Traditional ruler of Umuokoro Umuokeh, in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo state His Royal Highness Eze John Okafor has declared a young man identified as Mr Finbar Anosike Elewechi wanted for engaging in homosexual activities in his kingdom which led to the lynching and death of his accomplice, one late Uche Nwankwo, who died after irate youths of the community descended on him.

Julia, the sister to Mr Anosike had entered their family house and caught his brother pants down with the late Uche Nwankwo making out. Angered by the taboo, she raised alarm and angry youths of the community apprehended the two lovebirds.

While they were being interrogated, Mr. Anosike escaped, leaving only the late Uche Nwankwo, who later died as a result of injuries sustained in the hands of the rampaging youths of the community.

Confirming the incidence, a member of the Vigilante who craved anonymity, said “the activities of these two young men has become a problem to this community, indoctrinating young people into homosexualism. A lifestyle seen as a crime and punishable under the Nigerian law and attracts 14 years imprisonment.”

Reacting to the actions of the irate youths, he said, ‘it is true that their actions are irrational and barbaric, but if we had arrived earlier, we would have rescued the boys and hand them to the police, who will prosecute them, but then again, we cannot allow immorality to be treated with kids glove in our community and what happened to Uche will serve as a deterrent to others who may want to follow in their footsteps. They should not be seen as role models.”

“As for Mr Anosike, his pictures are out there, as a wanted person and we will also get him, there is no place for him to hide in this country, no matter what time it takes and he will face the full weight of the law”.

Mr. Finbar Anosike has been on the run after escaping from the village on August 18th 2023.

All attempts to apprehend the Dubai returnee, has proved abortive.
