RE: REFUTATION OF MALICIOUS ALLEGATIONS REGARDING FEDERAL RICE PALLIATIVES AND NOTICE OF LEGAL ACTION FOR DEFAMATION, CYBERBULLYING, AND INCITEMENT OF VIOLENCE

1. Introduction and Direct Refutation:
1. My attention was drawn on October 20, 2026, to a viral video circulating across social media platforms featuring one Charles Ogbonna, in which he made grave, baseless, and wicked allegations that I, in connivance with my brother inlaw, Dr Aham Uko [the immediate past Abia State Honourable Commissioner for Finance] – diverted and sold in open market two truckloads of rice provided by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for distribution to my constituents.
2. I state categorically, without equivocation, that these allegations are entirely false, malicious, and a calculated fabrication. At no point was any truckload of federal palliatives or constituency rice diverted, converted, or sold by me or anyone acting under my direction. Every food relief items budgeted and as contained in the appropriations act allocated to my federal constituency was distributed transparently and directly to the good people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Federal Constituency through established, verifiable community-based channels.

2. The Context: Financial Beneficiary Turned Political Tool:
1. It is deeply regrettable that Charles Ogbonna — a person I have extended significant financial help and personal benevolence to on multiple occasions despite having not supported me in the 2023 general election or currently [full financial records, bank transactions, and correspondence of which I retain] — has chosen to lend himself as a tool for political mudslinging.
2. This slanderous enterprise is being actively coordinated and disseminated primarily through the social media channels of one Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie (popularly known by the alias “Ikukufied”) and their co-conspirators.

3. The political motive behind this smear campaign is obvious:
1. My relationship with Charles Ogbonna deteriorated after I cautioned him against making unfounded allegations and engaging in unwarranted public attacks against our hardworking Governor, His Excellency, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. This is the same person who went out to pour libation for the death of Dr. Alex Otti. His evil deeds will surely catch up with him.
2. I am seeking re-election to continue delivering quality, transparent, and accountable representation to my constituency.
3. My political opponents — principally Chinedum Orji (son of former Abia State Governor T. A. Orji), both of whom are publicly known to be facing criminal trials for the alleged diversion and theft of billions of naira of Abia State public funds [Criminal Trial Case Numbers: HU/69C/2024, FHC/ABJ/CS/03/V/2025 — have realized that they can not defeat me in a fair democratic election. We roundly defeated them with more than 20,000 vote margin in the 2023 general election. We will beat them again in 2027.

Lacking a credible record of service or moral standing, Charles Ogbonna, Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie, and their sponsors have resorted to concocting falsehoods to defame my character, diminish my political standing, and mislead the public by diverting their attention from the EFCC court sitting today, Wednesday 21st October, 2026 at the State High Court, Umuahia. TA Orji, Chinedum Orji, and their co-conspirators will be on the dock again this morning.

4. Incitement to Violence and Public Mischief:
1. Beyond the obvious attempt at character assassination, this orchestrated campaign was deliberate in its design to incite my constituents to anger, hatred, and mob violence against my person and office. In a challenging economic climate, falsely telling citizens that public palliatives meant for them were stolen and sold is a dangerous, reckless tactic calculated to trigger civil unrest and bodily harm.

5. Formal Notice of Impending Legal and Criminal Prosecution:
1. Let this statement serve as a formal and final notice to Charles Ogbonna, Ikechukwu Kelvin Okorie (“Ikukufied”), their media proxies, and all behind-the-scenes political sponsors to the relevant sections of Nigeria’s Cybercrimes [Prohibition, Prevention, etc.] [Amendment] Act, 2024, signed into law on February 28, 2024, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,
2. Cyberbullying and Cybercrime: The intentional creation, broadcast, and dissemination of false information via electronic communication systems to cause annoyance, insult, injury, and hatred constitute serious offenses under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act.
3. Criminal Defamation: Accusing an elected representative of theft and diversion of public property without a shred of evidence violates provisions of the Criminal Code regarding criminal defamation and false statements.
4. Incitement and Breach of Public Peace: Orchestrating media campaigns aimed at provoking public hostility and violent reactions against a public officer carry severe legal consequences.
5. Be warned: In the fullness of time, and through the appropriate law enforcement and judicial channels, you will be held strictly to account for your criminal conduct.
6. My legal team is compiling all digital evidence, recorded transmissions, bank records, and publication trails. We shall invoke the full weight of the law against you, Charles Ogbonna, and every individual involved — whether as originators, publishers, or sponsors.
7. Charles Ogbonna, be assured, soonest your wish will be granted. We will surely sue you to court.

6. Message to the People of Ikwuano/Umuahia:
1. To my respected constituents across Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South Federal Constituency: I urge you to remain calm, discerning, and vigilant.
2. You are already aware of those amongst us related to Charles Ogbonna, who are serial converters of public property and funds for personal benefit and are awaiting conviction for their embezzlement and abuse of public trust. Do not be swayed by the desperate antics of this political family trying to cover up their own unresolved records of corruption by manufacturing lies against those serving you with integrity.
3. Be assured, we shall retire them permenately in 2027, remove their hands from public funds, and liberate the good people of Ibeku nation from their perpetual political enslavement.

My commitment to transparency, constituency development, and faithful stewardship of your mandate remains unshakable. No amount of sponsored propaganda or character assassination will distract me from serving you until 2031 by Gods grace.
