YOUR PVC IS YOUR POWER” — RT. HON. OBI AGUOCHA CALLS ON CONSTITUENTS TO EMBRACE CONTINUOUS VOTERS REGISTRATION TO BOOST VOTING STRENGTH

kwuano/Umuahia North and South, Abia State** — The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, **Rt. Hon. Obi Aguocha**, has called on all eligible constituents to take full advantage of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise, stressing that increased voter registration is critical to strengthening the constituency’s voice in Nigeria’s democracy.

Speaking to constituents across Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia South, Rt. Hon. Aguocha declared that *“Your PVC is your power,”* describing the Permanent Voter Card as *“not merely a card but a symbol of civic authority and responsibility”*. He emphasized that the strength of Nigeria’s democracy depends on citizens’ willingness to participate actively in the electoral process.

**Key Calls to Action**
Rt. Hon. Aguocha specifically urged:
– **First-time voters** who have recently attained 18 years to register without delay.
– **Residents with lost, damaged, or outdated cards** to use the CVR window to update, replace, or transfer their voter registration.
– **Youths, women, and first-time voters** to mobilize themselves and others, noting that their participation could define the political and developmental direction of Abia State and Nigeria at large.

*“Your vote is your power, and without a valid voter’s card, that power is lost,”* Aguocha said. *“We cannot afford to be passive when the future of our democracy is at stake. Let us rise to the call, register, and be ready to decide who leads us. The strength of our constituency lies in our collective participation.”*

The lawmaker warned that voter apathy weakens democratic institutions and limits citizens’ ability to demand accountability from elected officers.

Rt. Hon. Aguocha appealed to community leaders, youth groups, women’s associations, and civil society organisations within the federal constituency to intensify awareness efforts to ensure no eligible voter is excluded due to lack of information.

He reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation, stating that credible elections remain the cornerstone of good governance.
