One Thing I Truly Admire About Ofuji

By Emenike Okorie

Leadership is not measured by how people treat you when everything is going well. It is measured by how you respond when you are betrayed, disappointed, and wounded by the very people you once lifted.

That is why one thing I genuinely admire about Dr . Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso (Ofuji) is the extraordinary size of his heart.

Over the years, I have watched people benefit from his kindness, enjoy his generosity, and receive opportunities through him, only to turn around and betray him when it became politically convenient. Such experiences have broken many men. They would become bitter, vindictive, and unwilling to trust or help anyone again.

But not Ofuji.

Despite every disappointment, every act of ingratitude, and every betrayal, he continues to show compassion. He continues to give. He continues to believe in people. He continues to extend a helping hand without asking where someone comes from or what political banner they carry.

That is not weakness; it is strength of character.

It takes an uncommon spirit to keep loving in a world where hate often seems easier. It takes rare courage to keep giving after being repeatedly disappointed. It takes genuine humanity to refuse to let the cruelty of others change the goodness within you.

Anyone can be kind when life is comfortable. The true test of character is remaining kind after being hurt. That is the quality that sets Dr. Anyaso apart.

His generosity is not a campaign strategy. It is a reflection of who he is. His concern for people is not seasonal. It is part of his identity. Those who know him beyond politics understand that helping others is not something he does for applause; it is simply how he lives.

History has always remembered leaders whose compassion outlived the insults they endured. Positions come and go. Political seasons change. But a heart that genuinely seeks the good of others leaves a legacy that cannot be erased.

That is why no amount of propaganda, bitterness, or political attacks can take away one of Ofuji’s greatest strengths: his heart of gold.

As 2027 draws closer, the people will not only evaluate speeches and promises; they will also evaluate character, consistency, compassion, and the capacity to put people above personal grievances. Those are qualities that cannot be manufactured overnight.

Dr. Chima Anyaso has demonstrated them repeatedly.

Some people may betray him, but they cannot diminish him. Some may insult him, but they cannot erase the good he has done. Some may try to rewrite the narrative, but they cannot rewrite the hearts of those whose lives have been positively touched by his kindness.

A good heart is a gift, and Ofuji has proven time and again that his is one of genuine compassion.
