Ex-Abia speaker Orji appreciates party men for support in APC Primary election

The former speaker of Abia State House of Assembly Rt Hon Engr Chinedum Orji has appreciated supporters, family members, political associates and loyalists for their overwhelming support throughout the primary election process that to his landslide victory at the All Progressives Congress House of Representatives primaries on Saturday.

He spoke at his Umuahia residence shortly after clinching the APC ticket for the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency, describing the victory as a clear demonstration of the people’s trust, loyalty and belief in grassroots leadership.

Addressing party faithful and enthusiastic supporters who gathered to celebrate with him, Chinedum Orji said the outcome of the primaries has further strengthened his determination to provide effective and people-oriented representation.

He stated that he remains fully prepared for the task ahead and promised to introduce a fresh approach to representation centered on development, empowerment, accessibility and the welfare of the people.

According to him, the people of the constituency deserve leaders who understand their struggles and are willing to stand firmly for their interests at the national level.

The APC candidate expressed special gratitude to his wife, family members, supporters and political allies for their sacrifices, encouragement and constant prayers, noting that their support contributed immensely to his success at the primaries.

He also commended Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives for their leadership roles and continued commitment towards strengthening the APC across the country.

Chinedum Orji further called on Abians and APC faithful to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that the administration should be given the needed support to consolidate on its programmes and policies.

He urged party supporters to remain active and united, emphasizing that political relevance can only be sustained through active participation and loyalty to the party structure.

The former Speaker also appealed to party members to support all candidates contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming general elections.

He maintained that with unity, commitment and sustained grassroots mobilization, the APC stands a strong chance of recording impressive victories, insisting that political power is gradually returning to the grassroots.

The atmosphere around his residence later turned celebratory as supporters applauded his victory and expressed optimism that his candidacy would strengthen the APC’s chances in the constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
