ABIA TRADITIONAL RULERS ENDORSE GOVERNOR ALEX OTTI FOR 2027, COMMEND TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP

The over 500 Traditional Rulers in Abia State have unanimously endorsed and adopted Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, the incumbent Governor of Abia State, as our sole candidate for the 2027 Governorship election.

This endorsement followed a statewide sensitization and mobilization tour undertaken by the enlarged Executive Committee of the Abia State Traditional Rulers Council, comprising principal officers and Chairmen of the 17 Local Government Traditional Rulers Councils. The tour was aimed at consulting traditional rulers across the state and mobilizing grassroots participation in the ongoing voter registration exercise, particularly encouraging eligible citizens to register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Following extensive consultations and in accordance with traditional customs and institutions, this endorsement was formally announced by the State Chairman of our Council, HRM Eze Dr. Linus Nto Mba, Eze Udo of Atta Igboukwu Umuzomgbo Ihechiowa, on behalf of all the traditional rulers of Abia State. He was joined by the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Deputy Chairmen of the Council.

We the Monarchs also wish to caution individuals aspiring to the office of Governor who may contemplate employing unlawful or unconventional means to influence the electoral process to desist from such actions and respect the democratic will of the people of Abia State.

In our collective assessment, we have seen the remarkable turnaround and transformational achievements recorded under the leadership of Governor Alex Otti over the past three years as the basis for our endorsement and continued support.
