Nigerians Hail Aguocha’s People-centered Advocacies, as He Saves the Job of over 22,000 Citizens

One of the major thrusts of the representation of Hon Obi Agoucha, the member representing Ikwuano, Umuahia North And South Federal Constituency is Advocacy – the willingness and this time innate disposition to restore hope and stand in the gap in circumstances that looks bleak and hopeless.

Hon. has advocated for countless Constituents but this time Nigerians from all works of life.

Recall that there was a breaking news that the erstwhile Minister of Education made a pronouncement that the certificates of Nigerians, who graduated from universities in Republics of Benin and Togo, between 2017 till date, will no longer be recognized and there were rumours that some Nigerians working with the Federal government were already been sacked. It was noted that if this was allowed to stand, Nigerians that will be affected will be in excess of 22,000.

Upon learning this Hon Aguocha took it upon himself, took up their petition No 445 of 2024 and eventually the House after listening to Hon Aguocha’s submission and pleas, adopted a position which summarily posited that instead of a blanket invalidation of certificates, the federal government should carry out a case by case investigation to fish out the fraudulent certificates, that way genuine students who worked hard for their certificates will not be punished for what they know nothing about.

That is what representation is all about.

With a single but stoic move and bold stand, Hon Aguocha restored hope and thwarted a rash Executive order that would have rendered thousands of Nigeria jobless, restored their hope and dignity and rekindled the confidence the people have in the legislature.

Those are not just the true traits of a statesman but the character of a man who is not swayed by public validation nor plays to the gallery, rather self motivated towards truth and forthrightness.

Attached is the letter of appreciation from the affected Nigerians through their lawyer.

One good legislator is enough!
