Tomorrow, over twenty foreign investors from Turkey and other European countries, as well as numerous others from the local scene will converge at the International Conference Center ICC, Ogurube layout, Umuahia, for the Abia-Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition 2025.
The international Summit powered by the Abia State Ministry of Trade and Commerce in conjunction with the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public Private Partnership (PPP) is an audacious initiative of the Governor, Dr Alex Chioma Otti (OFR) to engrave Abia State on the map of international business as one of the investment destinations in Nigeria.
The three-day Summit will hold from Tuesday November 25 through Thursday 27, 2025, with the theme: “Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity,”
The Abia-Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition, the first of its kind in the State, is a landmark gathering designed to deepen bilateral cooperation between Abia State, the Republic of Turkiye, and Nigeria at large.
The event will serve as a bridge that connects opportunities, strengthens friendship, and ushers in a new era of shared prosperity.
Abia State prides itself as one of Nigeria’s most promising economic frontiers. At the heart of Abia state is Aba (The Enyimba City), the commercial nerve centre renowned across Africa for its creativity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial resilience.
Aba’s makers have demonstrated ingenuity that rivals global standards ranging from leatherworks to garments, fabrication to emerging technologies,
This summit therefore, would be an opportunity to showcase these potentials to new partners and investors, especially our friends from Turkiye known globally for excellence in manufacturing, textiles, construction, and technology.
Abia State, with 17 vibrant Local Government Areas, is blessed with unique natural resources, skilled manpower, and dynamic communities full of entrepreneurial spirit. Whether in agriculture, solid minerals, commerce, tourism, or small-scale manufacturing, our people continue to show a determination and creativity that make Abia a fertile ground for investment and innovation.
In the words of High Chief J N Green-Amakwe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnership PPP, Abia is undergoing remarkable transformation under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR. The Governor has prioritised infrastructure renewal, with massive road reconstruction, urban regeneration, improved power partnerships, and modernisation efforts that support industrial growth.
Safety and security have equally been strengthened, ensuring a peaceful and investor-friendly environment. These deliberate reforms are making Abia not just investment-ready, but a destination of choice for local and foreign investors.
What is more, the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework of the State has been redesigned to be transparent, efficient, and investor-friendly. Abia State today prides itself on an improved Ease of Doing Business environment – where procedures are simplified, government is accessible, and investors are treated as partners in progress. The message is clear: “Abia is open for business”, and we are ready for mutually beneficial collaborations.
Ultimately, this summit would mark the beginning of long-term partnerships that will create jobs, empower our people, and drive sustainable economic growth for both Abia, The Republic of Turkiye and Nigeria at Large.
