As Muslims across the world celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), the Executive Governor of Abia State, Alex C Otti, has extended his best wishes to the Muslim faithfuls in the state and beyond on this auspicious occasion of Eld-el-Maulud.
Gov Otti, in a message by his Chief press secretary Ukoha-Njoku Ukoha
on Monday underscored the importance of Ed- el- Maulud as a time of deep reflection, spiritual renewal, and unity.
He highlights the values that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) embodied—peace, humility, love for fellow humans, and dedication to the service of God—as key lessons that should guide all citizens, irrespective of their religious affiliations.
The governor added that in his administration’s quest for good governance, he draws parallels between the Prophet’s emphasis on justice, fairness, and equality with his government’s vision for a prosperous and all-inclusive governance in Abia State.
He stresses that Abia, being a state of diverse faiths, has always stood out as a beacon of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
This year’s celebration, according to Governor Otti, offers another opportunity for all Abians to reaffirm their commitment to unity, understanding, and respect for one another.
Gov Otti appreciated the significant contributions of the Muslim community in Abia State to the state’s development and encourages them to continue playing a pivotal role in fostering peace and mutual respect for one another.
He assures them of his administration’s dedication to ensuring an environment where all residents, regardless of their religious backgrounds, can thrive in harmony.
As the faithful gather for prayers and celebrations, Governor Otti calls on Muslims to reflect on the teachings of the Holy Prophet, especially in these challenging times, and to pray for continued peace and progress in Abia State and Nigeria as a whole.
