Group tasks Abia guber candidates on good governance

The Association of Abia State Town Unions an arm of the Association of Igbo Town Unions has tasked governorship candidates in the State to prioritize the well-being and development of the State in their campaign manifestos.

The group which is made up of 600 autonomous communities in the State vowed it will engage all the candidates aspiring for the number one job in a public interaction before the 2023 governorship election.

The president of association Chief George Mgborukwe, told our correspondent that the town unions are determined that Abia must experience progress and growth in all economic and infrastructural indics in the political dispensation.

Mgborukwe, posited that town unions are the oldest organization in Igbo land, adding that every responsible adult in the State belongs to the town union in his community.

He insisted that no one contesting for any elective office in the state can toy with association and win the election.

Mgborukwe, pointed out that group had organized a Special Town Hall Meeting to interact with all the candidates vying for office of the governor of Abia State to extra communiment from them.

He said,” The Town hall meeting we organized became necessary because the union can’t pretend about the earnest need and desires of Abians”.

“We want to interact with possibly, all the candidates of all the different political parties aspiring to govern our dear state. we shall not fail or pretend about the need and Ernest desire of our people in Abia.

” We want a sincere, true and passionate leader who will be ready to do all that may be required to rescue as well as ensure the speedy and even distributions of good developmental projects across the lengths and breadths of our dear state, this is exactly one of the major reasons for our interest in forth coming election”.

He revealed that only two governorship candidates attended the attended the town hall, adding that group will not relent until all other guber candidate presents their manifestos to them.
