IPOB discloses tracking 83 of its members previously presumed missing to prisons in North
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), said her legal team has successfully tracked 83 of its innocent members allegedly secretly transferred from Wawa Barracks to federal prisons in Kuje, Keffi, and Suleja.
Chris Nwaọgụ, Head, Fourth Administration Directorate of State (DOS) Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), made the disclosure during his weekly address.
He said “Through divine providence and relentless legal maneuvering, several Biafrans previously presumed dead have been located alive in northern gulags”.
Nwaọgụ extended his profound gratitude to the South African family of IPOB for their financial contributions towards sustaining the three defence attorneys leading the legal rescue mission.
“Every name matters, every life counts, and we will not rest until every single Biafran detainee walks free”, he said.
Nwaogu disclosed that the 4th Directorate has two sacred and non-negotiable mandates, the immediate and unconditional liberation of their Supreme Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and others, and the restoration of the sovereign nation of Biafra.
Nwaogu said it was unfortunate that in an act of cowardice, the Federal Government has decided to flee from its own courts as it “continues its frantic, disgraceful refusal to list Onyendu’s appeal for hearing.
“As legal analysts like Christopher Chidera and members of the legal consortium led by Onyedikachi Ifedi have clinically dissected, Omotosho’s sham conviction is being utterly shredded piece by piece.
“The world now knows that his ruling is a monumental judicial absurdity riddled with over 150 fatal legal errors. A judge who descends into the arena to manufacture unpleaded crimes and bases a conviction on a statutory provision that was never lawfully invoked has abandoned the judicial duty to adjudicate according to law. This is not an ordinary judicial error. It is a fundamental failure of the administration of justice.
“The court file regarding Onyendu’s fourteen-month illegal detention without trial—following his historic discharge by the Court of Appeal on October 13, 2022, remains missing, without a satisfactory explanation. The disappearance of a court file in a fundamental-rights case of this magnitude demands immediate accountability.
Going further, Nwaogu said, “The appeal challenging Justice Omotosho’s fraudulent conviction of November 20, 2025 remains deliberately unlisted. The Respondent has not filed its brief. That silence does not resolve the appeal; it makes the need for an open appellate hearing even more urgent.
“The government must answer the legal questions raised by the conviction.
Section 36(12) of the Nigerian Constitution stands unbroken: no written law in force defining an offense means no valid conviction. A regime that rushed to pass judgment under a dead law now quakes in terror at the sight of the Court of Appeal. That is not authority—that is total judicial panic”
The DOS head said their demand is that the judiciary should show them the law under which Kanu was convicted, then list the appeal and hear the case in open court.
Nwaogu maintained IPOB’s insistence on boycott of every APC event, saying the party was the reason for the suffering of their people.
“Shun every APC gathering, reject their flags, refuse their insignia, and deny them any form of political legitimacy in our land through peaceful civic disengagement. Any Igbo person or Biafran who campaigns for or associates with the APC is aligning with the party responsible for the suffering of our people.
We remain strictly non-partisan, but we know our enemy. This APC purge is our starting point; the total boycott of the 2027 general elections remains firmly on the table until Onyendu’s appeal is listed and heard”, he said.
He warned his members against Dave Umahi who he alleged openly declared his intention to personally bankroll 4,000 social media influencers to peddle APC propaganda and not only to prop up the regime but to mount relentless personal attacks on our leader in a futile bid to demarket him.
Nwaogu disclosed that Rochas Okorocha’s public confession regarding the political warfare in Imo State has shattered years of state-sponsored propaganda against IPOB.
“While political warlords waged bloody battles for territory, the regime and its local collaborators systematically pinned every casualty on IPOB and ESN to justify militarization.
“It is revealing that since Omotosho’s kangaroo judgment on November 20, 2025, the artificially sustained insecurity across the South-East has died a natural death.
“The marked reduction in insecurity following the judgment raises an explosive question: if the violence was genuinely attributable to IPOB and ESN, why did it recede so dramatically after the conviction of our Leader? The timing demands serious investigation. The people deserve the truth about who perpetrated the violence, who enabled it, and who benefited from blaming IPOB”.
He said IPOB totally rejects any return to political bloodshed in Biafraland. “Our land will not be converted into a killing ground for politicians competing for power”, he said.
Nwaogu sounded it clear that the immediate and unconditional release of Kanu is not a favour to be granted by the Nigerian government, but the demand for justice IPOB will continue to pursue.
