LP produces speaker, deputy speaker Abia State House of Assembly

The member representing Aba South State constituency Emmanuel Emeruka, has been elected the speaker of Abia State House Assembly.

He was nominated by the member representing Aba State Central constituency Uche Iheka, and the nomination was seconded by member representing Umuahia South State constituency Emeka Obioma.

Emereuwa of the Labour Party was elected unopposed.

The labour has ten members in the House, the Peoples Democratic party has eleven members, the Young Peoples Party has two members While the All Progressive Congress has one member in the House.

He was administer the oath of office by the clerk of the House Mr Johnperodo Irokansi.

Also elected was the deputy speaker of the House of Assembly Austine Meregini who represents Umuahia East State constituency.

The election of the deputy speaker caused choas in the house following objection by members of Peoples Democratic party in the House.
